This summer, between shooting for the paper and traveling to visit friends, I was lucky to make time to fly back to Ohio to continue photographing the McKees. Jameska gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Robert James in late August and she asked me to continue photographing her life. Not like she needed to ask. I made it down for the baby shower where it all really caught up to me. How fast life moves. They also hadn't seen me in a year.

"When are YOU having kids?"

Photographically, emotionally, I was overwhelmed.

These photos are from the trip I made for the birth. It was longer. Jameska let me stay on her couch most of the week. I was able to catch up with Nykki and Roxy as well. It was long and sleep deprived and worthwhile. More from these photos will surface soon.

i don't have the luxury these days to philosophize about the balance of work and life and how it should be done and how i will look back on these days on my death bed. but i do have the luxury of friends, carpooling to the shortest coast in the land and greasy dunkin donuts sandwiches. 

it will be clear soon enough that this will add up to something.

a few days behind because things are so hectic. tonight i'll be at the the first of two national debates in 24 hours. brad and i heard this great line on the radio today. it was something to the effect of "enjoy this circus while you can, because after it's over, it's just winter."

these images are from the first day of a week long stretch of chanting, clapping, sign-waving and slogan-slinging. the huntsman campaign bypassed iowa's caucus and focused on new hampshire. my wednesday was spent split between a few candidates, but here's what came of the hunt.
